DENTAL TREATMENTS AT OASIS DENTAL CLINIC MARBELLA

The Oasis Dental Clinic in Marbella offers a wide range of dental treatments. The patient’s initial requirements will be determined by a thorough consultation and an appropriate treatment plan will follow.

      Initial Consultation / Examination

A dental check-up or examination including screening for oral cancer and other dental diseases, often digital x-rays will need to be taken and then following this potential and recognized problems can be discussed. Depending on the complexity of the case, some patients may need study models and further tests to finalize a comprehensive treatment plan that is appropriate for that individual patient.

      Cleaning/Scaling

Good dental hygiene requires regular professional cleaning at least twice a year to avoid the onset of periodontal disease – otherwise known as gum disease. This is a very common condition among adults and symptoms are often misdiagnosed or missed.

      Restorations (direct) Fillings

Direct restorations are fillings placed immediately into a prepared cavity in a single visit. This is usually done to remove dental decay and restore strength and function to the tooth or to improve appearance.

The Oasis Dental clinic is an amalgam free practice.

      Restorations (indirect) Crowns/bridges/veneers/inlays

Indirect Dental Restorations refer to all restorations which involve using the laboratory to produce a custom made, well fitted restoration specific to each patient's tooth. After preparation, an impression is taken of the tooth and it is temporised. The lab made restoration is then fitted on the subsequent visit. Hence indirect restorations generally require two or more visits so please bear this in mind if you are plannning a short visit.

      Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Inside your tooth's hard outer shell of enamel is a nourishing pulp of blood vessels and nerves. If this pulp of your tooth becomes infected by decay, or damaged by trauma, root canal treatment is often the only way to save your tooth. Depending on which tooth is affected, there will be a different number of root canals. Whilst root canal treatments generally takes between one to three visits our specialist Endodontist normally completes the treatment in one single visit.

      Tooth Whitening

There are two main types of tooth whitening procedures; the in-surgery procedures and the “take home” system. Both can provide you with a brilliant smile although please note that whitening procedures may not be suitable for all patients.

      Implants

Dental implants have changed the face of dentistry as now missing teeth can be replaced with a substitute almost identical to the original. The bone in the missing tooth space is prepared and a titanium screw or cylinder is placed in the location of the intended tooth. Later once healing has taken place and the screw has merged with the bone, a crown or bridge is fixed onto the screw.

      Dentures

With all of the treatment options available today the role of removable dentures is sometimes underestimated. Often where several teeth are missing, and/or there are no other teeth for support and/ or implants are contra-indicated, dentures are a valuable treatment option. As they can be removed for cleaning they may even be easier to maintain than other options.

      Sedation for Nervous Patients

Are you a nervous patient? Do you feel unable to cope with a visit to the dentist but know that you have many dental problems that need to be fixed?

Conscious IV sedation may well be the answer for you.

At the Oasis Dental Clinic in Marbella we pride ourselves on being a friendly, professional team who listen and deal with your fears and concerns in a gentle and re-assuring manner. For those who need some additional help to cope with your visits we also offer conscious sedation to relax you at the time of treatment. Most people find that this is a pleasant and acceptable way of experiencing dentistry.|
