FILLINGS AND DENTAL DETOX IN MARBELLA

Oasis Dental Clinic is an amalgam free practice i.e none of the materials we use to fill your teeth contain mercury and are all tooth colored. The newer “mercury free materials” are superior to the traditional amalgam fillings in many ways. Our practice offers you cutting edge techniques and equipment and highly trained and experienced staff to make sure that your fillings are correctly placed for long-term success.

Fillings are used to restore the tooth structure where there has been damage or decay and they generally will last for a number of years if well maintained. It might be necessary to place a filling because there is a new problem (e.g. decay) in the tooth or you may have an old filling which needs replacing. This is usually because it has worn or pulled away from the tooth leaving gaps at the filling edges providing an entry point for decay-causing bacteria.

In addition although they might be intact, many people wish to change existing old grey/silver amalgam fillings as they worry not just about the appearance but the effect they may be having on their general health.

From an overall health perspective amalgam fillings have been in use in dentistry for over 100 years and we do know that mercury leaks from these fillings over time. Although the risks are still being debated, many patients wish to remove these fillings and change to the modern alternatives – just in case! Of course as these newer fillings are also designed to match the natural colour of the teeth they are more aesthetically pleasing.

To meet the demand for those of you who wish to electively replace your amalgam fillings purely for medical health concerns or cosmetic reasons (i.e. not because of dental problems such as decay) we have developed a special package called the Dental Detox package.

This package includes a full consultation and necessary radiographs to ensure that you understand both the positive and negative implications of replacing amalgam fillings, removal of your existing fillings and high-quality replacements with tooth coloured mercury free alternatives.
