You know that old saying about prevention being better than cure? Well nothing is truer than when it comes to your dental health.
It’s very important to schedule regular oral examinations and have thorough frequent cleanings. In this way potential problems can be detected and treated long before they start to give you pain.
The beginning of the year is always a good time to institute a new regime, so in order to help you to formulate some positive New Year’s Resolutions about your teeth, we are offering a discount off the cost of a session with Alice, our dental hygienist, during the month of February. Come in for your initial or recall examination during this month and enjoy a hefty 40% discount on your subsequent cleaning.
Alice has 15 years experience, including 10 of working on the Coast and is fluent in Spanish, English and German. She will be able to remove the staining and hard deposits of tartar/ calculus on your teeth that tooth brushing alone can simply not achieve. She is also very...

The end of the year is very close now, so don’t miss out on our special teeth whitening offer. This has proved to be one of our most popular treatments, especially in the midst of the party season.
Oasis Dental Clinic is offering new patients a special price of 190€ for an in-house teeth whitening treatment lasting approximately one hour that will offer immediate results. Take-home kits are also available at a cost of 150€ for a more gradual process that can take as little as 30 minutes per day to achieve.
Prior to any whitening treatment a comprehensive consultation and examination must be booked (30€) to ensure that you are suitable for the treatment and to decide which system is appropriate for your needs.
Valued existing patients of the clinic have not been forgotten and an even lower price is being offered to those who have had a full dental examination at the clinic within the past 12 months and now want to consider a whitening treatment.
Don’t miss the chance to greet...

We all know that children love to have a visit from the Tooth Fairy when they lose their primary teeth, but if you’re famous it seems that there’s even more money to be made!
When the late John Lennon gave one of his molars to his housekeeper, Dot Jarlett, who worked for him in the 1960s, he can scarcely have imagined that one day it would be worth thousands. Still, The Beatles was the biggest band on the planet at the time and anything with a bona fide Beatles connection still attracts huge interest.
The tooth formed part of a collection of rock memorabilia owned by Alan McGee, who is perhaps most famous as the boss of record label, Creation Records. Disillusioned by the current state of the music industry, Mr. McGee is planning to sell the whole of his musical miscellany.
Offered for auction in Stockport, the tooth was bought for £19,500 via a phone bid from Michael Zuk, a dentist from Alberta, Canada, who has written a book about celebrities’ teeth and admitted to an obsessive...

November is already more than half over, so if you haven’t already booked your dental makeover, now is the time to do it!
Oasis Dental Clinic is offering a 50% discount on preparatory work prior to treatment. This means that all examinations, x-rays, models of teeth and mock-ups necessary in advance of treatment will be half price – but only until the end of November.
This represents a considerable saving, since more complex treatment can require several diagnostic appointments before the actual work can commence. Planning is a crucial part of any transformation and while we do not charge for the follow up consultation, there is a cost attached to the additional investigations like imaging and wax-ups and models all of which are essential to help guide the final desired aesthetic result. This allows us to provide you with a easy to understand transparent, individual treatment plan which you then can decide wether you wish to proceed with.
With the necessity to conserve money at the forefront...

In the dental world there has been an ongoing debate about the causes for the crowding and shifting of position of the lower anterior teeth which many patients may experience as early adults or later on in life.
Many of these patients have had orthodontic treatment (braces) in the past to straighten their teeth and this relapse was often blamed on unstable orthodontic positioning or failure of the patient to comply with wearing a retainer after treatment.
Another very popular theory was that the eruption or attempted eruption of the wisdom teeth (last in the jaw) caused pressure on the lower teeth, forcing them to move forward and resulting in a crowded appearance at the front. However it has long been known that this phenomenon still occurs in patients who simply do not have any wisdom teeth or have had them extracted previously, so the “wisdom tooth” theory has always been questioned.
Now a study published by researchers at Malmö University’s Faculty of Dentistry, which has taken over...

We all want to look our best and make a great first impression! Why settle for less than a perfect smile?
Dentistry has evolved. We have only to look at the magazines to know that the rich, beautiful and successful people of today all have dazzling smiles. Now maybe not all of us were born that way… Some of us have perhaps been unlucky with our “tooth genetics”. Does your mother also have that space between her front teeth that you really wish she hadn’t passed on to you? Maybe when you were younger you just didn’t have the money or knowledge to look after your teeth and now that you are missing several you desperately wish you could turn back time? Or maybe this is something you have been meaning to do for a long time to treat yourself before the start of a big job or even a big wedding day.
At the Oasis Dental Clinic we know we everyone has different expectations and needs and we want to show you what is possible. Planning is the crucial step of any transformation and we spend time talking to you...

It used to be thought that children didn’t need to visit the dentist until they had a full mouthful of primary teeth, but these days we recommend that you should introduce your child to the dentist when they are babies.
This will enable your dentist to offer help and advice about proper dental care and allow your baby to become accustomed to the sights, sounds and smells of the dental surgery.
Once your baby’s teeth start to appear you should brush them twice a day using a special toothbrush and a small amount of children’s fluoride toothpaste.
When children are older, parents should set an example by emphasising the importance of regular tooth brushing. Small children will need a certain amount of supervision until they reach the age of about six or seven, after which they might still need occasional reminders! Supervision is important as children will have a tendency to swallow toothpaste and not rinse out thoroughly until about the age of seven. While fluoride is extremely beneficial...
